Potential Developing and Tool

good technology        great price

This website is dedicated to finding technology which has become affordable.  The reason for the affordability is marked with an asterisk.  If there is some particular class of technology you would like to see added to the catalog, fill out the feedback form.

Technology continues to race ahead.  How can anyone afford to keep up?  No matter what one pays for cutting-edge technology it does not stay cutting-edge long. What happens to cutting-edge technology is that by losing the edge it becomes more affordable. Does it really matter if your technology has lost its cutting-edge? Yes, it can, but not before it becomes un-supported.

How long it takes for a particular technology to become unsupported depends on how successful the technology developed to be and what edge was lost.  A popular technology lasts longer than an un-popular technology, but popularity is always second to planned obsolescence.

Planned obsolescence is the process of providing a product before it is properly finished. Some companies do this specifically to make customers buy more than one of their unfinished products. The worst of these companies make products which become unsupported rapidly(i.e. less than five years).

The Concord® 1500 1.3 Megapixel digital camera uses a SD memory card to extend its 8 meg. (50 picture) internal memory. It can also use USB so you do not need memory cards if you do not take more than 50 pictures at your live-moment events. (You could use memory cards as picture albums.) This is an inexpensive easy-to-use pocket camera for everyday use. If you want enlarged hard copies of your pictures(like 8X10 glossies) you might want more pixels per picture than this camera provides. 1.3 Megapixels is fine for normal prints.
